I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Business and Economics, the University of Hong Kong (HKU Business School).
My research lies at the intersection of international trade, macroeconomics, and industrial organization, with a focus on trade and competition in the digital economy.
I combine rich microdata with structural models to study how regulations and trade policies on digital goods, AI, and tech companies shape trade and competition.
Methodologically, my work uses AI/LLMs to estimate parameters from unstructured data (e.g., text, images and programming code) and interprets AI-generated outputs through the disciplined lens of economic models.
Primary field: International Trade, AI/Digital Economics
